Das Weingut ist Teil der sozialen Stiftung Bürgerspital zum Hl. Geist. Sie wurde 1316 zur Aufnahme und Pflege von Kranken, Bedürftigen und Senioren gegründet.
Vineyards have belonged to the foundation since 1321. Today estate manager Robert Haller is responsible. He knows: “Many factors have to come together to create unique wines. However, the most important prerequisites are large vineyards and a committed team. I found both here in the Bürgerspital.” His goal is Franconian wines, characterized by the great locations of the Bürgerspital in the extended urban area of Würzburg. For the wines from the Bürgerspital, minerality is more important than opulence and the terroir more important than fruit and sweetness.
